Denny

We are hoping to get a newer and better picture of Denny but this cute boy is ready for a family!  Denny was born in June of 2011 at 36 weeks weighing 5.7 pounds. At birth he was 18.8 inches long. He was born from the 4th pregnancy, 3rd delivery to a mom who did not receive any prenatal care. He has been able to hold his head up since the age of 4 months. Denny rolled over at seven months, sat and crawled at nine months. As of March, Denny weighed 15 pounds and his height was measured at 26.8 inches. He is very tiny for his age. Denny tends to get a lot of respiratory infections and he has had pneumonia in the past. He is current on his vaccinations and all of his tests for communicable diseases are negative. He has a diagnosis of Rickets. This little fellow needs some love and good nutrition as soon as possible. Cheyenne

This little girl was born at 34 weeks to a mother who had syphilis. She was born in October of 2009. She has a diagnosis of lower spastic paraparesis. She has a background of retinopathy with some retinal vascular changes. In her photo, her left eye looks different than the right eye. It is more open which makes it look bigger. We do not know the level of her retinopathy and the region will not give us more information than we already have. Cheyenne is being placed as a special needs child. Her full medical will be given to the adoptive family at the time of official referral. This is a new region so we need a family with a pioneering spirit! There is a $5,000 grant towards the cost of her adoption.

Charlie, Chad & Cindy – Sibling Group!

These three siblings are very bonded. Charlie is four years old, Chad is five years old, and Cindy is six years old. Their caregivers say that Charlie is very smart and likes to do his school work. He especially likes poems and songs. His brother Chad is very creative and likes to play outside. Cindy is described as a very sweet and shy girl. She likes to study. Cindy is cheerful and very engaging with other children and adults. The three kids are reported to be healthy. Their medical reports will be released at time of official referral. These children are in an unusual situation in that they are the only black children in the orphanage. We need to find a special family who is willing to adopt all three of these beautiful children together. This program is open to married couples only and the maximum 45 year age difference is strictly adhered to.

Bradley

Bradley was born in February of 2008. He has had surgery for a heart defect. The medical report from the operation says mitral valve insufficiency, tricuspid valve insufficiency, dilation of all cardiac cavities and pulmonary hypertension. The report states that a ligation of patent ductus arteriosus was needed. Bradley had surgery when he was nine months old and now he is growing and thriving. He just needs a family! Bradley has light brown hair and brown eyes. He likes to run and play. Bradley loves to play with trucks and is very social. We actually have two videos of Bradley that show his personality and spunk!

Bethany

Bethany is a precious Asian 4 year old girl with Osteogenesis Imperfecta otherwise known as Brittle Bones. She is extremely smart and apparently is advanced for her age. Despite being in an orphanage, she is getting Pamidronate which is currently the best medication to treat OI. Now that she has received this treatment, she is feeling much better and her bones are quite a bit stronger. Bethany is a child with personality plus. This smiling girl loves to interact with people and is very communicative. She has terrific fine motor skills. We have a great video of Bethany available for interested families to see. In order to have a chance to grow up and lead a productive, happy life, she needs to be adopted and the sooner the better! There is a $5,000 grant towards the cost of her adoption. Bethany is in a region that will only work with married couples.

9/6/11 UPDATE:  Since getting a new medication, Bethany is now standing and they hope will be able to walk soon!

Penny

Penny was born in July of 2005. She came into the orphanage at the beginning of this year. She was a full-term baby weighing 3.3 kg at birth. She was 51 cm long at birth. Currently she is 19.8 kg and 114 cm tall. Her tests for communicable diseases are all negative. Penny is so adorable with her light brown hair and blue-gray eyes. She had one seizure in July but they do not know what caused it. They are not sure she has epilepsy but they put her on medication to be safe. Penny is a hard worker. She is also described as affectionate and sociable.

Tina

Tina was born in December of 2009 and came into the orphanage in February of 2010. She was born prematurely at around 30 to 31 weeks gestation. At birth she weighed 3.4 pounds and was a little over 15 ½ inches long. At the age of 18 months she was 13.9 pounds and about 26 ½ inches tall. Tina is described as being a happy girl. She is active and can sit and walks holding your hand at 18 months. She loves to play with toys. Tina knows how to play patty cake patty cake and it makes her laugh. Tina always has a smile for those who greet her. She is learning to talk and responds to her teachers when she has lessons. She likes to dance to music. Tina can climb onto and ride little toy cars and rocking horses all by herself. She has blonde hair and is very fair. There is no listed exposure to alcohol but this should be looked into. The medical report seems to contradict itself a lot in her development vs what she is actually able to do in a sense that they have her listed at a developmental level of eight months but yet her activity level is much more advanced.
